January 2025

While I was recovering from shoulder surgery, Wordle and his daughter Puzzle traveled with our friend Stephanie to the shows in Jackson MS. Wordle was Reserve Winners dog at the first show, and took Winners Dogs at the first LRC regional specialty for a 5 point major! His young daughter Puzzle, her first time at a show, won her class all five shows, was Best Puppy the three times it was offered, was pulled for Winners Bitch three times and was Reserve Winners Bitch twice, one of those the second LRC regional specialty! She earned her her Puppy of achievement certificate that weekend! Proud of Puzzle!

 

October 2024


Wordle headed off to TN with Stephanie and picked up a couple of wins! Winners Dog/Best of Winners on Wednesday, Winners Dog (for a major!) on Saturday and Reserve Winners on Sunday!

Naughty is now a Champion!! She is a Quiet daughter, and a Hush and Oakley granddaughter. Super proud! Time to get her web page set up!!

We welcomed a new litter of puppies at the end of May! Two yellow boys, two yellow girls and two black girls. Looking forward to watching them grow up!

Great fun at the LRC Potomac specialty show — the largest specialty show in the world! The youngsters showed well. Hush won her veterans class and was Best Veteran Bitch. She also won her sweepstakes class and was honored with Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes!! Proud of my old gal!


November 2023

We had a super time at the Heart of Texas LRC specialty show! Wordle won five of his classes, was RWD one day and Best Opposite in Sweepstakes another day! Hush had her usual blast, taking Best in Veteran Sweepstakes, Best Veteran and a Judge’s Award of Merit the first day, and Best Veteran and Select Bitch on the second! Naughty and Stevie placed in all but one of their combined classes. Already looking forward to the 2024 show!


October 2023

Naughty was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for her second major at Belton! Wordle was Reserve Winners Dog!


June 2023

Nacho and Naughty headed up to the OKC shows and both came back with a win, with Nacho picking up his second major!


April 2023

We headed to MD for the LRC of the Potomac show, our first time back since 2019. The largest specialty show (of any breed) in the world! Hush competed in 9-11 year old veteran bitches and took a 2nd in a lovely class of senior girls! Nacho made us proud by taking 3rd place in a competitive class of open yellow dogs! Two dogs, two ribbons, Potomac — we couldn’t be happier!


March 2023

Off to the Spirit of St Louis specialty where we haven’t been in three years. Fun weekend! Hush enjoyed herself competing in the veteran classes. She was Best Veteran in Specialty both days, received an Award of Merit in the best of breed ring Saturday, and on Sunday was Best in Veteran Sweeps and Select Bitch. This old gal loves the show ring! Youngsters Nacho, Wordle and Gossip placed in all their classes too!

 
 

November 2022

We had a great time at the three-day Heart of Texas LRC specialty show in Austin. Naughty placed well in her bred-by classes, her dam Quiet received two Judges Awards of Merit, and Nacho was Reserve Winners Dog on the first day! Hush was excited to be loaded up for a dog show trip, her first in over three years and her first time out as a veteran. Just two weeks shy of 9 years, she was Best in Veteran Sweeps all three days, Best Veteran on the first day, and the icing on the cake — Best in Specialty Show and Best Veteran on the final day! She had so much fun being back in the ring! Super proud of our crew!


October 2022

Young Nacho picked up his first major at the Travis County Kennel Club, taking Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Breed!! He was also WD the following day!


June 2022

We have a new champion here at Raynefall! Mary finished her championship taking Best of Breed from the classes at the Sporting Dog Club of Colorado Springs! Many thanks to our friend Stefanie Perrine for handling Mary to this final win and huge congrats to Mary’s breeders, Mark and Gina Rothe of Overlook Labradors!

And, young Nacho picked up his first win taking Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Colorado Springs Kennel Club!

We welcomed a beautiful litter of black puppies out of Quiet. 6 boys and 2 girls! Can’t wait for them to grow up!

We had a great outing at the Dallas-Ft Worth LRC specialty shows. Youngsters Nacho and Bambi had a great first show, Naughty also did well in her classes. On Friday Naughty was Best Bred-by Exhibitor, and her dam Quiet made us proud by taking her first Best in Specialty Show, following in the footsteps of her parents! She’s now more than halfway to her Grand Championship.

Excited to share the news that Quiet and Hush had their litters, 4 days apart. Ten puppies in total!


December 2020

We have a new Champion!! Quiet finished her championship by taking Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the Dallas Market Hall shows! And the next day, she was Best of Breed for her first Grand Champion points!

Freddie’s littermate, Pearl, scored her first win, and a major to boot!


October 2020

Quiet’s puppies left for their new homes and we wish them well in their new lives! We held back two pups, Levi and Norah, and look forward to watching them grow up.

Welcome new babies! Quiet’s first litter by CH Shar-Jam Zac Posen arrived, eight puppies! 4 black boys, 3 yellow boys and a yellow girl. We can’t wait to watch them grow up!


March 2020

Our first road trip since September! We headed first to St Louis for the SSLLRC specialty show, then to Turlock CA for the San Joaquin Valley and Central California specialties! One of our young boys, Freddie (from Fling’s litter) had his show debut in SJVLRC’s 4-6 month Beginner Puppy competition. He was Best of Opposite Sex on day one and Best of Breed Beginner Puppy on day 2!!


October/November 2019

We welcomed the puppies from our 2019 litters and look forward to puppy fun over the next couple of months!

It’s been a couple years since we’ve attended one of our favorite specialties, the LRC of Greater Denver. It was fun to be back and we had a great show! Quiet won her bred-by class and was awarded Best Bred-By Exhibitor both days. She was also Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex on the first day, for a 5-point major! Hush received two Awards of Merit and Haze and Echo placed well in all four of their classes.


We took our annual trip up to Des Moines for the Midwest LRC of Iowa’s specialty shows and had great results! At one of the shows, Quiet was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for her second major, and her mom Hush was Best in Specialty Show!! The others had nice placements as well. That win for Hush earned her her Bronze Grand Championship!!

August 2019

We took a quick trip to Little Rock for the Arkansas Kennel Club show, it’s been a couple years since we’ve attended. We had a great outing, with Hush taking Select Bitch both days and Oakley Select Dog from the veteran class on the second day. Quiet had an awesome show, going Reserve Winners Bitch on day one and then Winners Bitch for her first points, a 4-point major, on day two!


June 2019

Cha Cha spent a couple months out at shows with our friend Stefanie Perrine of Everso Labradors, and finished her championship in June! The day after, she picked up her first grand champion points, a 5 point major, taking Best of Breed over many champions! We can’t wait to have her back in the yard playing non-stop with her tennis balls! Here are some photos of her wins …

We took a quick trip to the Miami Valley LRC specialty show and Hush had the honor of taking Select Bitch in the second show!


April 2019


We had a great time at the Dallas-Ft Worth specialty show in Thackerville, OK! Haze was Best of Breed in 4-6 month Beginner Puppy both days in a big entry. Roxy (from Darby’s litter last year) showed on just one day, her first time in the ring, taking 1st in a large sweeps class and 2nd in regular. Yogi showed on the first day and was Best in Veteran Sweeps. Quiet placed in all 4 of her classes including a 1st in sweeps on day 1, and Fling placed in both her classes. On the second day, Oakley was Best Opp in Veteran Sweeps and then in breed under Philippe Lammens, he took a JAM and Best Veteran. And Hush was Select Bitch in a nice lineup of pretty girls.

Then, on to the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac, the largest Labrador specialty show in the world! Oakley took a 3rd in 7-9 year Veteran Sweeps, and Gala and Haze showed in Beginner Puppy - Gala with a 1st in her class and Haze a 3rd. We were thrilled that Hush once again made it through all the cuts and was in consideration for the top awards in the Best of Breed ring.  We didn’t receive a ribbon, but always an honor to be amongst the finalists.  


March 2019

We made the long trip to the San Joaquin Valley specialty show in CA, our first show since the puppies arrived. Oakley was Best of Opposite in Veteran Sweeps and also received a JAM, Quiet had some nice placements in both her sweeps and regular classes, and the 3 youngsters Retro, Haze and Gala participated in their first show, the 4-6 month Beginner Puppy competition. Gala was Best of Opposite one day!


Winter 2018/2019

What a fun couple of months as we watched the puppies grow up and made decisions on which ones we would keep for our show and breeding program. Sad but exciting to watch the puppies leave to start their new lives with their owners! Thrilled to be adding such great families to our extended dog family.

We welcomed the arrival of litters from Fling, Hush and Cha Cha! Moms and babies are doing great. Expect we will be quite busy over the next few months!


September 2018

It’s been a long time since we’ve been to a show, so we headed up to Iowa for the Midwest LRC’s specialty shows. The girls made me proud — Hush was Select Bitch under both Gerry and Joan Saldana, Zinfndel Labradors, Fling took Winners Bitch under Joan and picked up a 4-point major, and Quiet (Oakley x Hush) did great at her show debut, winning her sweeps class and one of her regular classes, and took a 2nd in the other! Good girls!!

June 2018

Darby’s litter arrived on June 1st -- 2 black boys, 2 black girls and 2 yellow girls!  Darby and babies are doing great.  Excited to watch these babies grow up.


April 2018

It's always fun when we don't have to travel far to a dog show!  The Dallas-Ft Worth LRC holds its annual specialty show in Thackerville, OK in early April.  Fling again placed in both her classes, taking first on the second day.  We are super proud of Hush who was Best in Specialty Show on day two under breeder judge Daniel Oliviera (Canil Zuo, Brazil)!  Oakley was Select Dog!

After the local specialty show, we loaded up and headed to the LRC of the Potomac specialty show in Frederick, MD -- the largest labrador show in the world!  This year there were nearly 1,200 conformation entries, and we were thrilled that Hush made it through all the cuts and was in consideration for the top awards.  We did not receive a ribbon, but it was an incredible honor to be amongst the finalists.  


March 2018

Our first conformation shows in a long time!  We headed to St Louis for the Spirit of St Louis LRC's specialty shows, then out to California for three days of shows put on by the San Joaquin Valley LRC and Central California LRC.  Fling placed in all five shows!

Back in TX at the end of the month, Oakley took Best of Breed in a large entry at the Ft Worth Kennel Club, under judge Michael Faulkner.


November 2017

Our litter out of Oakley and Hush arrived mid-November.  Two beautiful black girls!  We can't wait to watch them grow up.

October 2017

Mimic had a singleton puppy, a pretty yellow girl, sired by Am CH/Eng SH CH Farnfield Topo Gigio JW SHCM "Gino."  It's been a couple years since we had a yellow puppy here!

We are so proud to share the news that Piccadilly's A Shade Darker "Billy" (Oakley's son and Fling's littermate) finished his AKC championship with four majors at specialties or under breeder judges, at only 14 months of age!  Excited to see what the future holds for this young boy! 


September 2017

The Midwest LRC held its very first specialty in Des Moines, and we drove up for the inaugural shows.  Hush was Best of Opposite Sex at both shows!  Fling placed in all her classes and was awarded Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes!

Then the following weekend we headed up to Minnesota for the North Star LRC specialty shows and supported entries.  Super proud of Oakley's Select Dog and Best of Opposite Sex awards in the two specialty shows!  Hush picked up two specialty Awards of Merit.  In the supported entries, Oakley and Hush both took Select at one of the shows, and Hush was Best of Breed Owner Handler in both the supported entries!


Summer 2017

Dock diving!!  We participated in a couple NADD dock diving trials this summer and the dogs had a blast.  Oakley earned his AKC DS (Senior dock diving title), Mike his DJ (Junior) and Hush her DN (Novice).  It's one way to keep cool in the Texas heat!


June 2017

We made our way north to the Greater Pittsburgh LRC Specialty!  Hush was Select Bitch under Gerry Saldano (Zinfndel), and Fling placed in all her classes.  It was our first trip to this specialty show and we will definitely go back!

We had a great time at the Dallas-Ft Worth LRC specialty show held in Thackerville, OK, and only a short drive for us, lol.  Yogi was Best Hunting Retriever both days and Oakley received a JAM on day 1.  


March 2017

March was a busy month for us!  We started out at the Spirit of St Louis LRC specialty, where Hush took Select Bitch under Michael Faulkner.  This was Fling's first show weekend, and she had some nice placements in her sweeps and regular classes.  From St Louis we drove out to Northern California for the San Joaquin Valley LRC and Central California LRC specialty shows.  Highlights there, besides the great times with good friends, included Hush's Best of Opposite Sex under Joan Saldano (Zinfndel) and Fling's 1st placements in a very large 6-9 month class under both Joan and Gerry Saldano.  Fling was one of four bitches pulled for WB consideration under Joan.  Very proud!  


November 2016

We headed to Atlanta for one of our favorite specialty shows, Greater Atlanta LRC.  Oakley was Select Dog under Roy Cone (Waterbound) and Hush received a JAM under Roy and also under Judy Chambers (Ghoststone).


October 2016

We had a super show weekend at the Heart of Texas LRC specialty show in Austin.  Hush won her first Best in Specialty Show, Yogi was Best of Opposite Sex, Best Veteran and Best Veteran in Sweepstakes, and Oakley was Select Dog!!  All under breeder judges Jeff Gillmore (Borowick) and, for sweepstakes, Lisa Butler (Snowberry).  We couldn't have been more proud.  :)  The following day Yogi was Best of Breed under Diann Sullivan (Cedarwood) and Hush and Oakley both took Select.  


September 2016

This year we made our first trip to the Huron River LRC Specialty in Michigan.  Under Cheryl Curtis (Erinhill), Oakley was Select Dog and Hush was Select Bitch;  with that win, Hush finished her Grand Championship with six specialty majors!   Oakley was Select Dog under Sharon Celentano (Shar-Jam) and under Tom Shearer (Bonaventure), Oakley was Best of Breed and Hush was Best of Opposite Sex!

Haven's litter by Gamble arrived!  We were blessed with 7 beautiful babies, 6 black boys and a black girl.

Hush takes Best of Opposite Sex and Oakley wins the first Award of Merit under Faith Hyndman (Buckstone) at the Winnebago LRC specialty in Wisconsin!  This was Cha Cha's first show with us and her first specialty -- she took 4th in sweepstakes and 1st in regular.

At Rio Grand Kennel Club in NM, Oakley wins Select Dog under judge Dana Cline.  


April 2016

Yogi picks up his 4th pass for his Senior Hunter title at the Albuquerque Retriever Club hunt test!!  The next day he picked up a 5th/bonus senior pass at the LRC of Albuquerque hunt test.  Huge thanks to Edna Schenck of Hidden Springs Labradors for training and handling Yogi to his SH!!

Oakley and Hush take back-to-back Best in Specialty Show and Best of Opposite Sex, respectively, at the Dallas-Ft Worth LRC specialty, under judges Manuel Queijeiro (Queijeiro) and Faith Hyndman (Buckstone)!  Angus was Best Veteran under Faith.  Oakley's wins this weekend earned him his Bronze Grand Championship!

March 2016

Hush takes Winners Bitch and Best of Winners under judge Vonnie Russell (HySpire) at the Spirit of St Louis LRC specialty show to finish her championship!  The next day she picked up her first grand championship points by going Select Bitch under judge Jim Russell (HySpire).  Oakley was Select Dog under Vonnie.

The following weekend, at the San Joaquin Valley LRC specialty, Hush was Best of Opposite Sex under judge Dr Karen Helmers (Paradocs), and earned an Award of Merit under Julie Bedford (Croftsway).


February 2016

Hush was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the San Diego LRC specialty show in February, under Marion Daniel (Mar-Moye)!

At the Papago LRC specialty in Phoenix, Hush was Reserve Winners Bitch and Oakley got an Award of Merit under Jean-Louis Blais (Chablais), and under judge David Flanagan, Oakley was Select Dog.  Oakley was also Select Dog under judge Carl Liepmann at Sahuaro State Kennel Club.

Haven was Reserve Winners Bitch under judge Elizabeth Wenner (Surry) at Coastal Carolina LRC!  Mimic and her littermate Rain make their show debut with some nice placements (and silly antics)!

Oakley takes Select Dog at the Dallas-Ft Worth LRC specialty show at Southfork Ranch under Guillermo Carrillo (Tequilabs) and Best of Opposite Sex under Dr Cindy Skiba (Epoch)!  Under Tony Ciprian (Lake Pine), Angus wins Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweeps!

Back in the specialty ring after a year of field training, Yogi takes Select Dog under Gunilla Ek (Attikonak) at the LRC of Greater Denver specialty!  On the second day, Oakley takes Best of Opposite Sex under Nancy Talbott (Belgold)!  Hush wins 1st in a nice open black class both days.

Quinn had 9 puppies by Yogi!  2 black girls, 2 yellow girls, 4 black boys and 1 yellow boy born by c-section.  Mama dog and babies are doing well!  Nancy Tanner, Heartsong Labradors, and I look forward to this litter growing up.

Yogi picks up his first two Senior Hunter passes with his trainer/handler Edna Schenck of Hidden Springs Labradors!

At the Shawnee Mission LRC specialty show, Haven was RWB and Best Puppy on day 1 and Oakley was Select Dog under Sue Willumsen (Willcare).  On day 2, Haven was Best in Sweepstakes under Robin Magee (Windy Ridge), and Bing was RWD and Oakley took Best of Opposite Sex under Linda Bednarski (Tullamore)!  A great show for Oakley and his two youngsters out of Bella!

The following weekend we headed to Ohio for the Miami Valley LRC specialty show.  Haven and Bing had some nice placements but the highlight was Hush winning her seventh Best in Sweepstakes under Stacey Green of Greenstone!


April 2015

Hush, Haven, Bing and I made the long trip to the LRC of the Potomac specialty in Frederick, MD, the largest Labrador specialty show in the world.  In very large classes, Haven took 2nd in 9-12 month sweeps and Hush 2nd in 15-18 month sweeps under Pam Ireland (Seawind).  Hush went on to take 3rd in her regular class.  Bing had two nice placements in his match classes.  Proud of the crew!

Hush and I attended the San Joaquin Valley LRC and Central California LRC specialties in Turlock, CA ... our first trip to this show.  What a great time we had with good friends!  Hush was Best in Sweepstakes in a large sweeps entry under Michael Lammens, Misty Point, on the first day.

We made our first trip to the Hoosier LRC specialty show in cold and snowy Indianapolis.  This was Haven's first show, she won a nice 6-9 month class and was one of 4 bitches pulled for WB consideration under Laura Dedering, Folklaur -- proud of her!  Hush took Reserve Winners Bitch.
